"I paint for the joy of it. In a world that seems so unsettled and often callous, I find solace in my

studio. It’s not a form of escapism, but rather of calm where I can think clearly and appreciate

the good that can be found in the world. I look over our beautiful gardens to the Salish Sea.

Such a magnificent view is very conducive to creativity. I am inspired to paint the ocean, the

trees and the creatures that inhabit them. However it is fun and challenging to explore new

ways of expressing myself through my paintings. In the past few years I have abstracted my

images by pixilating them. No surprise that the inspiration for this technique came from

computers that go wonky. Art is in almost everything I do. I usually view the world around me 

with what I would term an artistic eye. I notice changes of light, a certain twist in a tree branch or 

some unusual reflection. When I do my art work these things play an important roll. ART is life!"
