Join us for a celebratory community choral presentation by the Gabriola Pops! called Beautiful World. Led by Gabriola community choir leader Leah Hokanson, this free-wheeling mini-concert is the culmination of a two-week summer program for those who love to sing multi-genre pop music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. Featuring the Gabriola Pops! choir and soloists, backed by Gabriola’s own Harrison Way — Phil Frisson, drums; Brian McMahon, bass; Frank Sehr, guitar; and Leah Hokanson, keyboard — we’ll revisit tunes written (or popularized) by Mavis Staples, Leonard Cohen, Macy Gray, Pete Seeger, Bon Jovi and others. Rest assured, there will be plenty of opportunities to sing along!
