For over 30 years, Nova Scotia’s Joel Plaskett has been a driving force in Canadian music—blending East Coast tradition with fearless reinvention. Whether solo, with his band The Emergency, or alongside his father, Joel’s performances light up clubs, theatres, and festival stages.

From Massey Hall to opening for Paul McCartney, his genre-spanning songs connect across generations. In 2025, his influence was honoured with Songs From The Gang, a tribute album featuring Arkells, Sloan, Jill Barber, and more. At home in Dartmouth, his Fang Recording studio continues to anchor a thriving creative community.
