The Gabriola Arts Council Annual General Meeting for the 2023-2024 fiscal year will be held on April 30, 2025, at the Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre - 476 South Road. Doors open at 5:30 pm for registration and mingling; the meeting is to start at 6 pm. 

We are celebrating a few things at our AGM this year, in addition to completing our 2023-2024 fiscal year. It is the 10th anniversary of the Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre, and it is the 15th year of the presentation of the ARTY Award, which means we will have a double-decker cake in honour of these two anniversaries. In addition, we are excited to announce our special keynote speaker – Eliot White-Hill, Kwulasultun – who is joining us at the AGM as he gets ready to start his Kasahara Gabriola Trust Artist-in-Residency commencing May 1. Please come and join us for this occasion of multiple celebrations. A special invite to all past ARTY Award winners – it would be wonderful if you could join us again this year. We may even have Bannock! As the AGM is being held at GAHC, we need to be mindful of the number of attendees – we do not want to have to turn people away at the door (and we want to have enough cake!). Please email anne@artsgabriola.ca with your name and the name of any guest(s) that you are bringing with you. 🏆 Nominate someone for the ARTY AWARD 🏆 For the 15th year in a row, the Gabriola Arts Council asks you, our community, to nominate a person or a group who made an outstanding contribution to the arts on our island in the calendar year of 2024 for the coveted and much loved ARTY Award! This award is currently held by Dirk Huysman and the late Dr. Mary Ann Richards of D'Dance Glass. We can't wait to see what Dirk has added to the trophy--the traditional and annual obligation of all ARTY Award winners!
