Illuminating Identities: a community discussion on gender diversity
Saturday, March 1, 2025 (6:30 PM - 11:30 PM) (PST)
Description
Are you concerned for the queer and trans youth in our community? Are you confused about pronouns? Do you have a friend or family member questioning their gender? Are you an LGBTQ person feeling alone in the woods who needs to talk it out and rock it out? Join us on March 1st!
The evening will start with a screening of the Canadian Film Krow's Transformation, which follows the journey of a model through his gender transition. This will be followed by a Q&A discussion with the filmmaker (Gina Hole Lazarowich) and other guests with lived experience. The night will end with a dance party led by DJ Connie Q starting at 9:30pm!
The film is appropriate for teen and up audiences and all are welcome for the dance party.
Tickets for the movie and Q&A are 20$ and available at the Theatre Centre Website. If you just want to come for the dance party that's by donation. If you'd like to see the movie but can't afford to pay 20$, please contact the Theatre Centre. All proceeds will go towards paying travel costs for the panelists and DJ.
