Description

John Capon has played on CBC Radio and on TV most notably Jazz Radio Canada. He also played in the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and the National Ballet Orchestras. When he moved to Gabriola he conducted the Malaspina Choir and created the Gabriola Chamber Ensemble. The John Capon Quartet features John Capon, trombone and vocals, Brad Shipley, guitar and vocals, Brian McMahon, string bass and vocals and Jesse Capon, drum set.

Jim Byrnes has crooned, drawled, belted, hollered and sweet talked more songs into a microphone than most people hear in a lifetime. The sheer joy you can hear in his evocative, smoky vocals is a reason to celebrate him as a living musical treasure. Jim was recently awarded the Order of Canada, acknowledging the impact he has had on the Canadian arts scene as well as his philanthropic work.
