Mike Allen presents Jazz on Gabriola is proud to present an intimate afternoon of world-class jazz featuring Champian Fulton (piano & vocals) and Klas Lindquist (alto saxophone & clarinet), direct from New York City, at the Phoenix Auditorium at the Haven. Sunday, February 15^th at 3pm, a weekend for love, definitely a weekend for jazz lovers!

Widely acclaimed as “the most gifted pure jazz singer of her generation” (Detroit Free Press), Champian Fulton is a celebrated pianist, vocalist, and bandleader with a career spanning more than two decades. She has released 19 albums as a leader, performed in over 25 countries, and earned multiple honors including Album of the Year from NYC Jazz Record (2018, 2020, 2023) and Pianist and Vocalist of the Year from Hot House Magazine. A fixture at Birdland for over 20 years, Fulton is renowned for her galvanizing presence and deep commitment to the jazz tradition.

Joining her is Klas Lindquist, one of Sweden’s most respected jazz musicians. An award-winning alto saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer, Lindquist has appeared on more than 40 recordings and leads the acclaimed Klas Lindquist Nonet, whose 2023 release Alternative Source of Energy was named Jazz Album of the Year by Orkesterjournalen. His lyrical style and technical mastery have earned international acclaim, including Sweden’s prestigious Golden Sax Award.

Together, Fulton and Lindquist have built a compelling recorded legacy. Their collaborations include At Home (2020), Live in Stockholm (2022), and Handle With Care (2023), which showcases their effortless musical rapport and shared devotion to classic jazz values. Their latest release, Champian & Klas (2024), captures the duo at their most intimate and expressive, highlighting the conversational elegance and swing that define their partnership.
