Threads of Continuity - What are You? Group exhibition
Saturday, March 1, 2025 (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (PST)
Description
What are You? is a group exhibition featuring the participants in the Threads of Continuity workshops held at Nova, November and December 2024. The workshops explored identity through textile wordplays such as spinning a yarn, weaver as poet, mending and making amends. Participants wrote their own versions of George Ella Lyon's poem Where I am From. Exhibition participation is voluntary and this show has not been curated. We encourage discussions around socially constructed identities such as gender, class, race, sexual orientation and class.
This exhibition has been funded by the Community Support, Multiculturalism, Anti-Racism, Incentive (CSMARI) grant provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage, The Gabriola Arts Council and the Breaking Bannock, Building Bridges programming.
